Spanish manufacturer Torrot – the company which recently bailed Gas Gas out of its dire financial situation – now has a presence in Australia courtesy of two electric minibikes called the E10 and E12.
Imported locally by the Queensland-based GBT Imports, the E10 is the entry-level bike with its 10-inch wheels, while the 12-inch wheeled E12 is a natural evolution as children grow and develop their skills.
Both machines have 48V lithium-ion batteries which take about five hours to charge from fully flat, and running time is about three hours depending on settings.
The programmable settings are related to adjustable power, which in the case of the E10 is from 350-1050 watts. For the E12 there's power from 500-1500 watts.
There are also handlebar-mounted switches to toggle between 50 or 100 per cent power.
Weight is 25kg (E10) and 30kg (E12) respectively. The machines, both designed and manufactured in Barcelona, also have suspension from Italian company EBR, Mitas tyres, chrome-molybdenum steel frames, adjustable gas shocks and hydraulic disc brakes.
Other options include a Bluetooth-enabled Smartphone App and an inverter for car charging.
Prices are $2495 for the E10, and $3195 for the E12. Warranty is two years, excluding the battery which is 12 months.
Torrot also sells electric bicycles and mopeds. For details on those, as well as the company's local dealer network, click here.
