1. Honda Africa Twin. Solid performance, great looks, superb price – the Africa Twin is proof a big-bore adventure bike doesn't have to cost a bomb.
2. Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special. The new Milwaukee-Eight-powered Harley Touring range represents a major shift for the breed, and the Street Glide Special is dripping with Big Twin cred.
3. Ducati XDiavel S. Ducati's top-spec power cruiser takes the genre into new territory. Sublime styling, cutting-edge tech and impressive performance ensure this cruiser is anything but calm.
4. Victory Octane. This pocket rocket has the go, the looks and the backing of a growing national dealer network, and its keen pricing is the icing on the cake.
5. Suzuki GSX-S1000. Superbike performance in a modestly priced naked-bike package – what's not to like?Kellie Buckley: Bikesales freelancer
1.
Honda Africa Twin. For reviving one of the richest monikers in road-going trailies, for convincing the mainstream that an automatic gearbox belongs on a 1000cc off-roader and for opting to be more things to more people instead of having to have the most gadgets and the most grunt.
2. Triumph Thruxton R. For staying to true to type despite copping (nearly) all the mod cons.
3. Aprilia Tuono 1100 RR. For being awesome. Seriously, if you do one thing this Christmas break, pop down to your Aprilia dealership and take this thing for a spin. It’s one of the most stirring riding experiences you’ll have all year.
4. Yamaha’s YZF-R3, for toppling Kawasaki’s Ninja 300 from the top of the best-seller list.
5. Yamaha MT-10, for being a true naked superbike.

1.
The KTM 1290 GT is unpassable.
2. The new Triumph Speed Triple R is a better road bike than people give it credit for; its torquey triple so useable in the real world.
3. KTM’s off-road racebike for the masses, the 350EXC-F is right up there.
4. The Yamaha XSR900 – an incredible bargain and soooo much more bike than you expect just by looking at it. One of my favourites ever.
5. Ducati 1200 Enduro – that posh Italian has no business smashing through the Aussie scrub quite like it does and its electronics actually help instead of hinder. Pick any of those five, or any of the 25 others I can think of, and you won’t go wrong!

1. Honda Africa Twin, our reigning bike of the year. See narrative above.
2. Yamaha MT-10. One brute of a bike tamed to produce a true rider's machine. So much performance, yet so controlled.
3. Triumph Street Twin. I made a goose out of myself at the launch (check out the image gallery), but what a fine entry-level bike for the revamped Bonneville range.
4. Victory Octane. This bike simply works - very well.
5. Can-Am Maverick X3 sports side-by-side. Riding this thing through the Baja Peninsula was the most fun I've ever had on two or four wheels.
