The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit hasn’t hosted world championship motorcycle racing since early 2020, but the COVID-enforced void will come to a thundering end when the 2022 rounds of the MotoGP and WorldSBK titles are held at the Victorian circuit in October and November.
General admission and corporate hospitality tickets are now on sale for both events, with the October 14-16 MotoGP round the 18th instalment in the 2022 championship.
The Aussie crowd will have plenty to cheer about with Jack Miller (Ducati) and Remy Gardner (KTM) in the premier class, as well as Joel Kelso (KTM) in Moto3.
As well as the jam-packed on-track schedule, which will also feature national support classes for superbike and the Oceania Junior Cup, off-track Gardner Village will be a hive of activity with the famed GP Expo, team and rider merchandise, an entertainment stage (look out for a live recording of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation’s In the Fast Lane podcast) and a bevy of food trucks.

Just five weeks later, from November 18-20, the world’s best production-based racers will visit the 4.45km circuit for the final round of the 2022 world superbike and supersport titles.
And it could be an absolute doozy, with all indications pointing towards the superbike championship going down to the wire between current world champion Toprak Razgatlioglu (Yamaha), Alvaro Bautista (Ducati), and Phillip Island fast man Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki).
The Aussie flavour will lie with Oli Bayliss (Ducati) and Benjamin Currie (Kawasaki), and there will be three national categories – superbike, supersport and supersport 300 – battling for official Australian championship points.
All three-day ticket holders will get free access to the WorldSBK paddock.
