In 2012, Mt Tarrengower, near Maldon, was the venue for the first ever world trials round in Australia, and the return bout will again see the globe’s best riders, including the all-conquering Spaniard Toni Bou, return for more. In 2012, Bou was peerless on his Montesa, finishing ahead of countrymen Adam Raga (Gas Gas) and Albert Cabestany (Sherco) on day one, before lifting his work rate even further on Sunday to run out an easy winner from Jeroni Fajardo (Beta) and Takahisa Fujinama (Montesa).
2012 MT TARRENGOWER WRAP
Meanwhile, Motorcycling Australia is inviting Australian riders to compete with the world’s best at Mt Tarrengower. Riders must have an FIM competition license, at a cost of $300 for a single event, and do not need to take out FIM level insurance as the event is being held in Australia, saving local riders at least $648. Minders and assistants only need their normal MA license for this event.
Entry forms, FIM trial regulations and FIM license applications are available online at http://wtcaustralia.com.au/2014/. Applications close on March 28, 2014.
For more information and enquiries about riding in the event, contact MA Trial Commissioner Kevin Zarczynski 0401 431 629 or kevin_zarczynski@hotmail.com.
