Justin Hunt Management (JMA) has taken over management of the Australasian Safari from marketing and promotional giant Octagon, as the off-road centrepiece looks to secure its long-term future in Western Australia. JMA is owned by long-time Safari director Justin Hunt.
The agreement has been given the nod of approval by Tourism Western Australia, the major sponsor of the Safari, and now it’s all systems go ahead of this year’s event from September 23-30.
“For me the event is a life long passion,” said Hunt. “We have already identified ways to keep building on what we have achieved in Western Australia and ways we can plan to ensure the long-term viability and this and similar events.
“From the outside looking in – nothing will change for competitors. From the inside looking out I am giving an undertaking that my team and Tourism Western Australia are committed to the long-term future of the event.
“Also that the important aspects of the event such as the course, our media and television and most importantly our safety and emergency management will only be improved from year to year.
“Like many of you I have become "hooked" on Safari. It is such a great fit here.”
