Team Speedway U21 silver for Australia

An impressive second place for the Aussie quartet, led by dual U21 individual world champion Darcy Ward
Team Australia has claimed the silver medal in the 2012 FIM Team Speedway Under 21 World Championship, contested in Poland on September 1.
The green and gold team of Darcy Ward, Sam Masters, Dakota North, Alex Davies and Nick Morris amassed an impressive 44pts across to finish behind home team Poland (61). Sweden (26) and Russia (17) were third and fourth.
Australia was led superbly by team captain and two-time world under 21 champion Ward, who collected 14pts.
“To finish second is a very encouraging result,” said team manager Mark Lemon.
“The previous day practice was washed out due to rain – this hindered track time and experience and set ups on the wide open Polish tracks.
“Our riders slowly got to grips with the conditions and soon dialled themselves in toward the later stages of the event, gaining invaluable experience for future continental events.”
