FCAI says over 400 new motorcycles, scooters and ATVs -- the most models ever under one roof in Sydney - as well as two-wheel action attractions, celebrity appearances and on-stage activities will appear at the event from Friday, November 17 to Sunday, November 19 at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.
"The exceptional growth of the national motorcycle market over the past four years has in part been spurred on by the increasing diversity of available models. Quite literally, there is a motorcycle, scooter or ATV on the market for every-sized budget, for anyone aged from five-years onwards living in the city or country riding on-road or off-road," said Mr Sturrock.
"The after-market industry has grown in lock-step with the growth of the total motorcycle market in terms of volume and diversity, and the 2006 Sydney Motorcycle Show will reflect that."
There will be over a dozen as yet unseen models and concept bikes on display at this year's show, which will be confirmed in the weeks ahead.
In addition to its large stand inside, Yamaha will be showcasing its externally-located Blue Zone that will feature a number of innovative displays and activities including a limited number of free demonstration rides on a fleet of Yamaha TTR50 minibikes that will include rider instruction.
The high-flying Yamaha Showtime Freestyle Motocross team will also be in action along with Honda's Red Riders minibike activity area which will host a display of several junior riders and Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) instructor conducting demonstrations on correct riding technique.
Limited free test and pillion rides will be available on selected Harley-Davidson and Buell models, while Ducati will also be offering free test rides on selected Ducati models.
