Taimoshan café racer custom bike

Built by a Welsh custom shop, this jaw-dropping café racer was built around a 1000cc V-twin engine oft-used by Italian company Aprilia

Built by Taimoshan Cycle Works based in Wales, this eye-catching custom motorcycle has all the hallmarks of café racer, and was built almost from scratch around a lustrous Italian engine.

The Aprilia RSV café racer's beating heart is indeed the 1000cc V-twin from the Aprilia, and was chosen by Taimoshan Cycle Works to emulate the Norvins of the 1960s, only without reliability and fueling issues. The Rotax engine is also a lot more powerful than anything found on a Norvin and has a convenient electric starter.

With the radiator and extractor fans mounted underneath the seat section, the café racer has a pure appearance, and is described by Taimoshan Cycle Works as having a 'steampunk' aesthetic.

The bike was built around the engine, with a custom made 'featherbed' frame and swingarm, the latter of which is hooked up to a Showa single rear shock absorber.

One of the highlights of the design is the exhaust system, which features a custom made stainless steel equal length twin system, which is purported to be super loud. Check out TaimoshanCycleWorks.com for more details on the Welsh custom shops creations.
