Among the current line-ups on show from the broader spectrum of motorcycle marques lie a number of standout offerings sure to draw a crowd, some of which were only first revealed just a couple of weeks ago at Italy’s EICMA expo, in Milan. Those gems include BMW’s R nineT café racer and S 1000 R streetfighter, Triumph’s Thunderbird Commander and Thunderbird LT cruisers, and Suzuki’s V-Strom 1000 ABS.
Other machines making their Aussie debut include KTM’s ‘beast’, the 1290 Super Duke R, and its two-stroke Freeride 250R, along with Kawasaki’s new Ninja ZX-14R Special Edition, Ninja 1000, and Teryx LE side-by-side vehicle (SSV).
Other luminaries include Ducati’s 899 Panigale, Honda’s Pioneer 700 SSV and Goldwing F6B, and Yamaha’s MT-09, along with the latest offerings from Aprilia, Harley-Davidson, Victory and more. Speaking of cruisers, Victory’s new stablemate – Indian – will also be there, along with Arctic Cat, Benelli, Bimota, Confederate, EBR, MV Agusta, and Ural.
Scooter fans will also be well catered for, with myriad brands on offer including Piaggio, which will be showcasing its new MP3 Yourban, X 10 maxi scooter, and BV350 big-wheeler. You’ll also be able to admire Vespa’s exclusive 946, even if it’s too late to buy any of the examples in the 2014 shipment heading our way – they’re all spoken for.
Including a rich variety of apparel and accessories vendors, and all manner of motorcycle-related products and services, a total of 140 exhibitors will be on hand at the show, which will be staged at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour.
A strong line-up of entertainment will keep show-goers of all ages smiling, with the outdoor Action Arena and indoor Trials Arena hosting gravity-defying displays from stunt meister Lukey Luke, the Jack Fields Hell Team trials riders, and the Showtime FMX team, among others.
