The brand new $1.5 billion Sydney International Convention Centre (ICC) in Darling Harbour will be the venue for the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show from November 24-26.
Building on the successful 2015 event, the Sydney Motorcycle Show continues to grow under the management collaboration between the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) and Troy Bayliss Events.
Boasting 15,000 square metres of indoor exhibition space as well as an additional 5000 square metres of outdoor decking overlooking Darling Harbour, the iconic location will provide a unique location for showcasing the latest offerings from the motorcycle industry.
Tony Weber, Chief Executive of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), made the announcement at the opening of the 2016 Melbourne Bike Expo on Friday, November 25.
“Our motorcycle and ATV industries representatives toured the new ICC while it was in the final stages of construction mid-year and were bowled over by what this new world-class venue offers in terms of its contemporary style, its huge display areas, and of course, the convenience of its downtown Sydney location,” Mr Weber said.
“We’re confident that the ICC has that ‘wow’ factor which will appeal not just to our loyal motorcycle audience but to people who just want to get along to a busy, visually engaging show and see the latest our industry has to offer.
"The new Darling Harbour facility is now a world-class exhibition venue. Our member brands are really enthused about the show and keen to support it. That's always a great sign that we can expect a terrific showcase of what the industry has to offer."
The Sydney Motorcycle Show was previously been held at the former Darling Harbour facility in 2013, and then switched to Homebush in 2015 while the huge new 35,500 square metre indoor show space was being constructed.
Over 100 exhibitors are expected to participate in the event which will unveil the latest new release motorcycles to the Australian market.
Event organiser Troy Bayliss said he expected the show to reach exhibitor capacity before the end of the financial year.
"Moving the show back to Darling Harbour has proven to be popular with the motorcycle industry,” Bayliss said. “Exhibitor sales are extremely high, and I expect we will be at capacity by the end of the financial year.
"This event will bring together the latest products, services, and offerings from all disciplines of the motorcycle industry for consumers to experience in the one place.
"We will be announcing some new initiatives in the coming months including a fantastic program targeting new riders."
Showcasing the latest motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides and much more the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show will give visitors the opportunity to engage with industry experts, test ride a range of both adults and children’s motorcycles as well as be entertained by a full program of demonstrations, stunts, and special features.
