The streetfighter scene is set to make room for yet another newcomer, with Suzuki's GSX-S750 about to debut before Australia's motoring media in Melbourne tomorrow (May 31).
A smaller sibling for the GSX-S1000, the GSX-S750 takes over as Suzuki's three-quarter-litre naked hooligan bike, once the few remaining examples of the existing GSR750 are sold.
Powered by a heavily revised version of Suzuki's 2005 to 2008 GSX-R750 sportsbike, the GSX-S750 comes with an extra 8hp over its predecessor and is packed with high-grade electronics, including multi-level traction control, ABS brakes, and Suzuki's one-touch Easy Start System.
With new styling, new instrumentation, LED taillights, new rims, petal discs and a new and more aggressive headlight design, the GSX-S750 weighs in at 213 kilograms and produces 84kW at 9000rpm and 81Nm at 9000rpm, all while meeting strict Euro 4 emissions regulations.
The model enters a seething hot-bed of competition, going up against rivals like Yamaha's MT-07HO, Kawasaki's Z800 ABS, and Triumph's Street Triple, among others.
Available in Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black, Pearl Mira Red or Metallic Matte Black, pricing for Suzuki's GSX-S750 will be announced soon.
