A pair of new learner-friendly Suzuki models is headed to Australia in 2024

Suzuki has revealed two new LAMS-approved single-cylinder models for the Australian market, with the Gixxer 250 naked bike and Gixxer SF 250 sportsbike set to land in November.

Based on the Suzuki V-Strom 250SX platform, the new Gixxer pair will be powered by a 249cc single-cylinder engine with oil cooling. The engine produces a claimed 26.7hp (19.8kW) at 9300rpm and 22.2nm of torque at 7300rpm.

Pricing for the Gixxer 250 starts at $6490 ride away, while the fully faired Gixxer SF 250 starts at $6790 ride away. Both bikes are available in either Matte Blue or Matte Black.

Both machines feature styling cues taken from other Suzuki models such as the GSX-R family and the Hayabusa. Highlights include a twin-outlet exhaust with chrome caps, brushed-finish alloy wheels, rear tyre hugger, and an easy-to-read digital console.

In the name of accessibility, the seat height stands at 800mm, while the 41mm front fork is designed for “excellent” damping qualities and feel, especially in wet weather. The Gixxer 250 weighs in at 156kg fully-fuelled, while the SF model tips the scales at 161kg wet.

Suzuki is also offering a range of accessories and options for the two bikes, including a power socket, knuckle covers, a front bumper, and various protective layers.

The Gixxer 250 range will go on sale in Australia from November 2023.
