Suzuki confirms MotoGP return
Will be back on the scene in 2015 after a three-year absence from the top flight of road racingSuzuki Motor Corporation will rejoin the MotoGP paddock in 2015 with the in-line fur-cylinder GSX-RRs to be ridden Spanish pair Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales.
Prior to its full-time return, Suzuki will make a wildcard appearance at this season’s final race, the Valencia GP, with the rider yet to be announced.
Suzuki suspended its participation in MotoGP from 2012 but has been continuing with the machine development in light of its return, with Randy de Puniet logging the most kilometres during that time.
But the Frenchman hasn’t retained his incumbency for the real business, with Espargaro and Vinales now charged with official duties. Espargaro has just come off his best ever MotoGP result at Aragon, second behind Jorge Lorenzo, while Vinales won the Moto2 race on the same day.
Aprilia will also rejoin the MotoGP grid in 2015, with Alvaro Bautista one of the confirmed riders.
