Suzuka replica go-kart track

One's being built in Taiwan, which could be the next best thing to riding around the famous Japanese circuit proper

Mobilityland, which operates the Honda Motor group's Suzuka Circuit in Japan, home of the famous world endurance race, will open a new theme park in Taiwan.

The centrepiece of the 'Suzuka Circuit Park', spanning 30,000 square meters, will be a race track one-tenth the size of the real Suzuka, with the same layout. Go-karts with a maximum speed of around 70k/h will race on the 600-metre course. How much fun would that be, especially the famed esses where motorcycles and F1 cars make for a glorious sight at close to full noise.

The operator expects 10 million visitors a year for both the park and the commercial facilities.

The Suzuka Circuit in Mie opened in 1962, and Mobilityland is licensing a business to a foreign company for the first time — and there could be more. Australia, please…
