Supercharged Kawasaki H2

The new machine will be unveiled at the Intermot show in October, probably using the supercharged engine we first saw at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

Kawasaki Heavy Industries' experience in gas turbine technology could prove to be a boon for motorcyclists, with the company set to release a supercharged machine at the Intermot show in Cologne at the press day on September 30.

The company has already started releasing teaser videos (HERE) of the supercharged bike, which will carry the H2 moniker, harking back to one of the company's most influential sports bikes – it's 750cc three-cylinder two-stroke, which first appeared in 1972.

Kawasaki has so far released four videos, with the latest showing a silhouette of the H2. The next video will be released on September 11 as the hype builds.

When Kawasaki unveiled the in-house supercharged four-cylinder prototype engine at the Tokyo Motor Show, we reported at the time that capacity was 1000cc. However, the H2 won't necessarily follow that path, as forced induction bikes don't have to dominate the capacity headline – it's all about efficiency and getting the packaging right.

Yep, details are still scarce and we're reading between the lines, but if the reality matches the hype 2015 could be a very good year for the Japanese company.
