Triumph Australia is very proud of the way its Street Triple is performing. It’s selling its socks off in the marketplace and is being used to great effect to thrill race fans with amazing stunt antics performed by local stuntmeister, Lukey Luke.
Figures released in July by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) again show that Triumph’s Street Triple is the top-selling naked motorcycle for the first half of 2009.
Triumph is very strong in Australian nakedbike sales with five of the top 10 models coming from the UK brand. This is the second consecutive quarter that the race-inspired Street Triple has topped the 2009 nakedbike sales charts.
Lukey Luke is backed by Triumph Australia and regularly pilots his Street Triple R (and Speed Triple) at major motorsport events throughout the country. “No other middleweight bike gives me the confidence and feel that I get from the 675. It’s got more grunt and handles better than any other supersport machine I’ve ever ridden,” says Luke.
Luke’s Street Triple R is basically unchanged from factory specification. “All I’ve done is regeared it, modified the rear brake set-up and added an Arrow exhaust,” he explained. “It’s got enough power from stock, and the brakes are really awesome! It’s a really fun bike to ride,” he adds.
