Australia's Josh Strang (Suzuki) has finished sixth overall in the latest round of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series, held in muddy conditions at Lafayette, Tennessee.
New Zealand's Paul Whibley (Kawasaki) led almost wire-to-wire to win his second race of the year by well over a minute from fellow Kawasaki rider Jimmy Jarrett. Whibley also returned to the lead in the title chase on 141pts, ahead of Suzuki's Charles Mullins (128) and Strang (126).
Mullins was fourth in Lafayette, eight seconds behind third-placed Kailub Russell (KTM).
With mud flying high in the air, Jarrett was first off the line in round six, with Whibley and Strang in close contact. At first, the three battled neck and neck with a number of positional changes before Strang, who won the last three rounds, began to falter through the mud going into the third lap.
On the fifth and last lap, Whibley's lead became impregnable, as he returned to the top of the dais for the first time since round two.
Australia's second rider, Glenn Kearney (Husqvarna), was 12th and is 16th overall on 33pts.
Kearney has just been named in Australia's team for this year's International Six Days' Enduro in Portugal. For more information, click here.
