Stoner and Doohan for speed comparison
Casey Stoner's new career on four wheels will now take him to Albert Park during the F1 weekend in Melbourne -- but it will all be a bit light-heartedThree international superstars of the track will line up against each other at the 2013 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix from March 14-17 when Casey Stoner, Mick Doohan and David Coulthard take to the starting grid for a star-studded Ultimate Speed Comparison.
In the handicap event, Stoner will take to the wheel of a Red Bull V8 Supercar, Mick Doohan a Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG road car and David Coulthard a Red Bull Racing F1 car on the Albert Park circuit.
Five-time MotoGP World Champion Mick Doohan has his money on Coulthard for line-honours but looks forward to taking on his competitors on four wheels instead of two.
“DC has won the Australian Grand Prix twice at Albert Park and is the obvious favourite in his Red Bull F1 car but I’m sure Casey and I can take it to him next month – we will have to wait and see,” he said.
The Ultimate Speed Comparison will take place on the Albert Park track across all four days of the event at the following times:
- March 14 -- 3.40-4.00pm and 5.20-5.35pm
- Friday March 15 -- 3.00-3.15pm
- Saturday March 16 -- 12.20-12.35pm
- Sunday March 17 -- 2.40-2.55pm
