Melbourne-born e-bike firm Stealth Electric Bikes is gearing up for world domination, with the reveal of its 2022 off-road range, as well as a series of road-registerable models.
The Australian company is best known for its e-bike range, which consists of high-powered electric mountain bikes. Previously, the e-bikes have been too powerful to legally be considered bicycles, but do not meet requirements to be registered as motorcycles. Unlike traditional e-bikes (which are simply pedal-assist), the Stealth machines feature both throttle and pedal power.
But a number of strategic partnerships has seen Stealth look towards the future, with the goal of becoming a leader in electric mobility. The Melbourne firm has recently partnered with Italian design company C-Creative, led by former MV-Agusta boss Giovanni Castiglioni, and scooter giant VMoto Soco Italia.

As well as the addition of road-legals models to the 2022 line-up, a number of key technical improvements have been made to existing models.
The frame and swingarm on the H-52, F-37 and B-52 models have been completely redesigned with updated geometry and improved ergonomics. This is to provide more high-speed stability and more comfort for the rider.
There is also improved suspension and increased wheel diameters (24-inch to 27.5-inch), as well as motocross-derived braking components (instead of traditional MTB-style brakes).
Throttle mapping and power delivery have also been improved, with the high-torque direct drive hub motors receiving a number of updates, particularly in terms of cooling. The H-52 and B-52 variants have also received improved battery tech, resulting in increased energy density, overall capacity, and range by up to 25%.
Additionally, the latest-generation B-52 replaces the traditional Suntour 9-speed Vbox with Stealth’s own Hex Box transmission. The oil bath transmission offers 6 pedal speeds, and is controlled by an electromechanical gear shifting mechanism.
While the Stealth models have previously been illegal on the road, the company is now offering L1eB homologated variants dubbed H-52S, B-52S and F37S. These models will fall into the same registration category as most 50cc motorcycles/scooters across Australia, Europe and the UK.
The new S models will benefit from all the 2022 updates, but will also feature lights, indicators, mirrors, mudguards, and licence plate holders in order to meet registration requirements.
Stealth will be showing off its 2022 range with Castiglioni and designer Adrian Morton at EICMA 2021. The F-37 and H-52, along with the P-7 and P-7R models, will be available from December, while the B-52 will be available in the first quarter of 2022. The homologated variants will be available from March 2022 at Stealth dealerships.
