Australian Speedway World Cup (SWC) trio Chris Holder, Davey Watt and Darcy Ward will lead a star-studded line-up to compete in the Leigh Adams Benefit Meeting set down for November 26 at Adelaide’s Gilman Speedway.
Holder, Watt and Ward, part of the Australian SWC team that earned silver last month, are close friends of Adams and benefited from his mentoring in the early years of their overseas careers.
Gilman Speedway Manager Dave Parker said the addition of the Australian SWC trio and British Elite League star Cameron Woodward would be the first of many big names to turn out in support of Adams.
“We are not finished yet,” he said. “I am still in negotiations with three more International superstars and I am sure that come November 26 we will have one of the strongest fields seen in Australia for some time.”
A three-time SWC gold medallist, individual world No. 2 and nine-time Australian champion, Adams retired from professional racing at the end of 2011 after a career that spanned more than 20 years.
