Stars galore for Bayliss Invitational
A couple of American hotshots will join long track and speedway world champions as well as Australia's road racing, motocross and dirt track eliteThe inaugural Troy Bayliss Invitational GP flat track event at the 2015 Pramac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island has announced a stellar line-up, including American Grand National stars Jared Mees (who also won the 2015 Troy Bayliss Classic in Taree) and Jake Johnson, Australia's three-time world speedway champion Jason Crump, and Sweden's four-time world long track champion Joonas Kylmakorpi.
"I am excited to make another trip to Australia to race some flat track during the MotoGP and it’s awesome to see flat track growing across the country," said Mees. "I'd like to say thanks to Troy Bayliss for the invite and his efforts into pumping flat track up and also to Brisbane Motorcycles in advance for the motorcycle. I can't wait to get to Melbourne!"
Bayliss will also contest the event himself, as well as plethora of local motorcycle racing stars such as road racers Josh Hook, Troy Herfoss, Damian Cudlin and Alex Cudlin, dirt trackers Paul Caslick, Michael Kirkness, Luke Richards and Marty McNamara, as well as multiple motocross and supercross champion Dan Reardon.
The Troy Bayliss Invitational GP will commence with practice on Friday, followed by racing on both Saturday and Sunday. All ticket holders will be able to take in the action for free on the purpose-built facility behind Lukey Heights (turn nine).
