Stark Future has revealed its first road-legal electric enduro bike, with deliveries of the all-new Varg EX to Australia set to begin in May 2025.
The Barcelona-based firm claims the Varg EX is “the world’s most powerful enduro bike”, providing serious competition for the KTM Freeride E and Husqvarna Pioneer, as well as lesser-known models like those from Chinese firm Surron.
The EX is good for 80hp in its range-topping form, while the 7.2 kWh battery provides a claimed 20 per cent more range than the original Varg motocross model, for a riding range of “up to 6 hours”.
Also giving the bike enduro credentials is a 4000-lumen LED headlight, lighweight handguards, and a chassis that provides increased vertical frame flex in the rear shock mount area of the frame and improved lateral flex in the front area.
Elsewhere, the Varg EX features many of the same attributes as the MX version, including the unique smartphone display.
Importantly, the Stark Varg EX is fully homologated for road use in Australia and New Zealand. Stark says it will help with registration in many regions.
The addition of a road-legal full-size electric dirt bike to Stark Future's range could be a game-changer for the off-road motorcycle industry, with Stark claiming “everywhere you can ride a mountain bike today, you will ride Enduro tomorrow”.
Pricing will start at $17,900 and all bikes come with a two-year warranty. Production is limited, so Stark is encouraging would-be customers to act quickly.
