It's not crystal clear whether Italian-based Garage 65 are big sci-fi fans, but its latest creation, the Stargate, certainly wouldn't look out of place on the deck of a futuristic battle cruiser.
Shown at the Verona Motorcycle Expo in Italy, the Stargate is an incredibly shiny low rider design, which attracted lots of attention on the show floor - so much so that it was awarded the honour of being named Best in Show.
Garage 65 is well known in Italy, particularly after having taken out first prize at the 2010 World Constructors Championship (Italian division) with a different design, but the Stargate meanwhile is notable for its copious amounts of chromium and polished aluminium.
The custom motorcycle's entire surface is finished with an incredibly reflective sheen, but there's more to this madness than just the bling. Powered by a torque-laden supercharged V-twin engine which acts as a stressed member, power is modulated via a CVT.
There's other unorthodox elements too, such as the hollow swingarm that acts as the fuel tank, plus an adjustable air-suspension setup and the bizarre overall design. The word unique springs to mind!
