French maker tries out-there twin

French maker Voxan has gone down the risky road traveled years ago by Aprilia, by getting interior designer Phillipe Starck to pen the lines for one of its new models - the Cafe Racer Super Naked.

Starck's previous experiment with bikes was the Aprilia Moto 6.5 (shown in silver and orange) which scored the maker a lot of exposure but not much in the way of sales.

The new naked (in black) is even more extreme but claims some entertaining stats. Its maker says it weighs 180 kilos dry with an engine output of 140 horses.

Meanwhile we lean more towards the more traditional café racer in the line-up, with the unfortunate name of the Charade Racer that was launched in 2005.

Voxan battles on with modest sales and has so far not been exported in volume outside Europe.
