•11 Aug 2023If there was an award for the coolest Harley-Davidson model, there is a good chance many would pick the Low Rider ST.
The Low Rider ST (also known by its model designation, FXLRST) was introduced in 2022 as a more practical version of the popular Low Rider S model. Both machines are currently fitted with the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, while the ST variant adds a fairing and saddlebags as standard.

And you might have already guessed it, but ST stands for Sport Touring. The Low Rider ST harks back to the FXRT Sport Glide of the late 1980s and aims to recapture the classic, hard-riding Dyna spirit that became popular within the Harley fanbase.
While the Dyna platform is now long gone, the modern Softail chassis has allowed H-D to build bikes that perform just as well if not better than those old Dynas.
The Low Rider ST features plenty of cool Californian West Coast style, and ironically has a noticeably ‘tall’ stature, giving it plenty of cornering clearance. The saddlebags sit up nice and high, and the rear suspension and handlebar are also quite high.

Adding to the handling ability is the frame-mounted fairing – a key feature of the original FXRT – which helps to take some weight off the front end and allows for more dynamic cornering.
The bike is an otherwise simple but effective machine. The saddlebags are removable and traction control is offered as an option. There is also a wide range of original parts and accessories available.

Starting at $36,995 ride away, the Low rider ST comes in three colour options – Vivid Black (standard), White Sand Pearl (plus $365), and the exclusive Fast Jonnie scheme (plus $3850).
Harley-Davidson has also added the Low Rider ST to its highly exclusive Icons collection in the form of the Low Rider El Diablo. Featuring a unique hand-painted colour scheme and audio as standard, the El Diablo was produced in a one-off production run, and they are rare as hen’s teeth.
Customers can test the Low Rider ST as part of Harley-Davidson’s nation-wide 120th Anniversary Demo Tour. Check out the dates here.
