History will be made when the first-ever Speedway of Nations event takes places at German track Teterow on Saturday, June 2, as Germany, Denmark, Russia, Latvia, USA, Slovenia and the Ukraine compete in race-off one.
Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium then stages race-off two on Tuesday, June 5 as hosts Great Britain meet Australia, Sweden, Czech Republic, France, Italy and Finland.
Three teams from each race-off reach the finals in Wroclaw, Poland on June 8-9, with the top two scorers qualifying automatically and the third to fifth-placed teams playing off for the final spot.
Australia’s team is world champion Jason Doyle, with Manchester and Wroclaw track specialist Max Fricke named as his partner. Aussie under 21 champion Jaimon Lindsey, who rides for Rawicz in the Polish second division, is their junior.
