The 2024 Australian Hard Enduro Championship kicked off over the weekend with the opening round taking place in the hills around the Victorian town of Towong.
Dubbed the Kosciuszko Killer, the first round saw riders take part in a series of prologue sprint races on Saturday and a 4-hour main race on Sunday.
Sherco pilot Anthony Solar dominated the weekend winning on both days to take the overall round win in the Gold class ahead of Beta’s Ruben Chadwick and Wade Ibrahim.

Solar got off to a shaky start in the prologue races but clawed back a two-minute deficit to win the day by over 40 seconds. The second day was much smoother, with the Sherco rider building a 10-minute lead by the end of the first lap.
Conditions were muddy, slick, and challenging, but Solar navigated the course solidly to beat over 300 competitors.
Robert Nowak and Chris Perry rounded out the top five in the Gold class.

Timon Wegner claimed the Silver class victory ahead of Jarryd Xuereb and Chris Dark, while Thomas Armstrong took Bronze class honours ahead of Aiden Rodriguez and Bay McGrory.
Other winners included Shane Bowden (Silver O45+), Damien Warde (Bronze O45+), and Alex Dunlea (Junior).
The second round of the Australian Hard Enduro Championship will take place on May 11 and 12 when riders converge on Wattle Flat, NSW for the Goldfields Extreme.
