Sneak peak of BMW S 1000 RR Superbike

The bike Aussie Troy Corser will race in 2009

Here is another sneak preview of BMW's S 1000 RR in racing trim, ahead of the bike's debut in the 2009 Superbike World Championship.

Technical data on the bike is still scant, but BMW is promising it will be a competitive from the get-go, which Aussie fans will able to gauge first-hand when the 2009 title commences at Phillip Island from February 27 until March 1.

The production version of the S 1000 RR, featuring ABS, will initially be available for customer order in Europe, with availability in Australia yet to be determined.

Dual world Superbike champion, Aussie Troy Corser, will anchor BMW's racing effort in 2009, with Spaniard Ruben Xaus his teammate.

The program will be run in conjunction with Alpha Racing, and based out of Rosenheim in Germany.

This year's Superbike title ends in Portugal on November 2, with Corser and Xaus expected to begin full-scale testing soon after that.
