Sinclair takes a massive tumble in Madrid

Remains in induced coma

Australian Cameron Sinclair remains in an induced coma after a massive crash in the fourth round of Red Bull X-Fighters in Spain.

Cameron under-rotated a double backflip and took a massive hit, falling short on the same move which saw him thrill the crowd at Fort Worth, Texas, in round three.

Sinclair lacerated his liver in the fall, as well as breaking his cheekbone and shoulder. He also has bruising to the brain.

The full extent of Sinclair's injuries won't be known until he regains consciousness.

Sinclair crashed in the quarter-finals at the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas bullfighting arena in Madrid, with local rider Dany Tores defeating America’s Nate Adams in the final. Australia’s Robbie Maddison was third.

After the penultimate round, Adams is now the new leader on 225pts, 10 ahead of former pacesetter, Japan’s Eigo Sato, who could only managed ninth place in the Spanish capital.Defending champion Mat Rebeaud and Maddison are equal on 210pts.

The final round will be held at London’s Battersea Power Station on August 22.
