The new 2022 MV Agusta Superveloce Ago has been officially unveiled, with its namesake – 15-time world title holder Giacomo Agostini – welcoming the brand’s latest exclusive bike with a track session at the recent Italian GP at Misano, San Marino.
For anyone with a penchant for MV Agustas and racing history, the new MV Agusta Superveloce Ago is as much an object of sublime beauty, as it is the embodiment of racing glory and modern sports performance.
Limited to a global production run of 311 units – one for each of Ago’s GP victories – the first 15 examples will also receive an uber-exclusive carbon-fibre plaque celebrating each of the legendary racer’s world titles, along with Giacomo’s hand-signed signature on the tank.

In addition to the striking race-heritage-inspired livery, the MV Agusta Superveloce Ago also receives high-spec fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, with a 43mm NIX fork up front and a TTX36 rear monoshock, plus an Öhlins steering damper with CNC machined support, a new forged aluminium top triple clamp, and a host of carbon-fibre components. The latter span the fairing side panels, the front and rear guards, the lower tail section and the passenger seat cover.
The bike also gets a new, higher windshield, more reminiscent of the race fairings and screens of the bikes on which Agostini weaved his magic so many years ago.
Mechanically, the bike is otherwise unchanged from the recently updated Superveloce base model, with a 798cc inline triple producing 147hp at 13,000rpm and 88Nm at 10,100rpm, and an updated electronics package that incorporates an inertial measurement unit and a new TFT display.
However, the Ago-edition model also comes with an exclusive race kit, comprising a unique (and road legal) Arrow three-exit exhaust, a dedicated ECU with unique mapping, a set of Icon Red handgrips, a carbon-fibre seat cowl with Alcantara pad, and a certificate of authenticity.
The kit’s exhaust and mapping changes deliver an increase in power and torque while also “intensifying” the Superveloce Ago’s racing character, says MV Agusta.
The 2022 MV Agusta Superveloce Ago is expected to reach Australia around March 2022, and will be priced at $59,990 ride away. Click here for more information.
