SGP: Sayfutdinov wins, Holder fifth

The world speedway title's showpiece round has been held at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, with Russia's Emil Sayfutdinov scooping the honours

Russian Emil Sayfutdinov earned himself a win in the 2013 British FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on June 1, and was followed home by Niels-Kristian Iversen, Krzysztof Kasprzak and Fredrik Lindgren in the final.

Australia’s world champion Chris Holder was eliminated in the first semi-final and was fifth overall on the night. Holder’s countryman Darcy Ward didn’t ride due to injury.

After five rounds, Sayfutdinov leads the championship on 69pts ahead of Briton Tai Woffinden (61), Dane Nicki Pedersen (56), Holder (54) and Pole Jaroslaw Hampel (52).

Round six will be held in Poland on June 15.
