The Australian-built Savic C-Series electric motorcycle is one step closer to reality, with the brand announcing an important milestone in the bike’s development.
According to a social media post, the C-Series recently passed electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, which proves the bike meets strict regulations.
EMC testing is required for all vehicles but is even more stringent for electric. It ensures a vehicle does not interfere with other electronic devices or vehicles.
Savic says that this recent development paves the way for the first customer deliveries, and that it is “one step closer to delivering an unparalleled riding experience”.
The Australian-owned company also recently closed its crowd-sourced funding campaign, which raised a total of $680,589 and 217 new shareholders.
Savic first appeared at Melbourne’s Moto Expo in 2018 with a prototype. Orders were being taken at the time for the 2019 and 2020 model years, however it wasn’t until 2021 that Savic revealed the fully formed C-Series for an expected 2022 launch. This came after a funding from a Federal Government initiative designed to stimulate and grow innovative Australian manufacturing.
While some media have tested pre-production versions of the bike, a number of hurdles and roadblocks in the development have delayed customer deliveries.
This latest news will give electric fans hope that the C-Series might finally be headed for customer garages. Watch this space.
