Having been in existence for 42 years, McAdam Park has a rich history, and is considered one of the best motocross tracks in Australia.
In this time the Sporting Motorcycle Club at Barrabool has consistently produced 'standard setting' events at this World class venue, which is now coming up for sale.
In its efforts to raise the cash needed to secure the park's future, the Sporting Motorcycle Club has now launched the BIG PICTURE wall website.
The BIG PICTURE wall is a giant picture of the McAdam Park logo, a mosaic of 10,000 tiles which people can buy online with their name inscribed on each tile, forever.
The club is hoping motorcycle enthusiasts all over will feel compelled to do their bit in saving a piece of motorcycle history.
"In buying their bit of Barrabool, people become a part of the BIG PICTURE, and hence contribute to, and become a part of, our rich history here at Barrabool," said club President Peter Ovens.
"When the wall is finished, you can have the satisfaction of standing at the wall and saying: "I helped Save Barrabool."
Tiles for the Wall are available from as little as $100 by going to the Sporting Motorcycle Club website. Or for $200, companies can obtain advertising tiles and have their company information, logo and weblink on the BIG PICTURE website.
The more tiles you buy, the more exposure you get, and the more you help in saving McAdam Park, Barrabool. "You simply buy your tiles online, or order online and send in your payment," Ovens added.
"For the computer school drop-outs, a friend can print out the purchase form, and you send it off via snail mail. Everyone can afford $100 to save such great place. If we can't raise the cash very soon, then the bulldozers move in!"
