Sydney-based Gasoline Custom Garage, the Australia importer of Zero Engineering Samurai choppers, has now received the compliance go ahead for two of its model line-up to go on sale from February, 2012.
The ‘Type 5’ and ‘Type 8’ Samurais will be the first to be sold, with prices starting from $29,000 ride away with two years warranty.
The Type 5 comes standard with the Harley-Davidson Evolution engine mated to a five-speed transmission. The engine and transmission are carried by the original gooseneck style rigid frame. There’s also a springer front fork, a choice of tank sizes and handmade leather seats. Colours are yellow, blue and black.
The Type 8 is powered by the Harley-Davidson Evolution Sportster 1202cc engine, with similar chassis and suspension attributes to the Type 5.
There is also a Type 9 with a Harley-Davidson Twincam 88 engine and also featuring Zero’s multi-arm rear suspension, claimed to be the most comfortable of the Samurai family. The Type 9 is yet to receive ADR approval.
