Safety recall: BMW K 1300 S/R and K 1200 S/R

BMW Australia has issued a safety recall affecting a number of its K 1300 and K 1200 sportstourers and naked bikes
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission has posted details of a product safety recall affecting a number of BMW sportstourer and naked-bike models, namely the K 1300 S (model no. 0508/0509), K 1300 R (model no. 0518/0519), K 1200 S (model no. 0581/0591), K 1200 R (model no. 0584/0594) and K 1200 R Sport (model no. 0585/0595).
According to the ACCC, vibration on long rides at constant high engine speeds can, in some circumstances, lead to foaming of the brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir. This can in turn lead to air entering the brake system, reducing braking performance.
Owners of the affected models have been asked to contact their nearest BMW Motorrad dealer or call 1800 813 299.
