The long-awaited Victorian Government blueprint incorporating powered two-wheelers into an integrated transport solution is now only "10 days to two weeks away" according to sources close to the Minister for Ports and Roads, Tim Pallas.
The draft document, titled 'Powered Two Wheeler Transport and Safety Strategy', has been slated to operate from 2009-2013, falling within the framework of the state’s other major transport initiatives: 'Arrive Alive II 2008-2017' and the 'Victorian Transport Plan'.
The strategy, which closely mirrors a strategy adopted by the UK in 2005, will address such issues as infrastructure; traffic management; congestion; access to road space, emissions; noise; equipment and clothing; testing and training; and education.
