RR Days R back
All starting at Phillip Island in March, followed by Sydney Motorsport Park and Queensland Raceway in April and May respectivelyBMW’s hugely popular RR Experience Test Ride Days are back for another year in 2015. The RR Experience gives potential customers and current BMW riders the chance to experience the brilliant S 1000 RR superbike on a racetrack, which really, is its true habitat.
The 2015 model year is going to be a big one for BMW, as it sees the first all-new S 1000 RR since the bike’s launch back in 2010. An all-new chassis and engine package, which now boasts an incredible claimed 199hp and 204kg ready-to-ride weight, as well as electronic trickery pioneered by the HP4 and the K-series touring range such as the new Quickshift Pro system that allows for clutchless up and down shifts, make the 2015 S 1000 RR one of the most eagerly awaited machines of the year.
But even if you don’t want to try the new S 1000 RR, you can hop on a 2015 K 1300 S, K 1300 R, R 1200 GS and the new R 1200 R. The cost is $89 for one test ride session and this includes an event t-shirt and light refreshments.
Alternatively you could go the whole hog and sign up for a RR Experience Track Day. All you need is a road registered bike (doesn’t have to be a BMW), no slick tyres and no racebikes. For $280 including garage, t-shirt and light refreshments, that’s pretty good value if you’ve never done a track day before and want to see what it’s all about. RR Track Day riders will also get the chance for a spin on a new S 1000 RR or other BMW models, provided there’s stock available.
