There’s now another Thunderbird other than a Triumph-badged one in the motorcycle universe – the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500.
The bike will be Royal Enfield’s only new entry into the marketplace for 2012, and it recently took centre stage on the company’s pavilion at the huge Indian Auto Expo.
The fuel-injected, twin-spark 500cc single-cylinder engine is mated to a five-sped transmission, and produces 27.2hp and 41.3Nm of torque – quite a reasonable figure.
At the moment, the only Royal Enfield imported into Australia is the famous Bullet in three different configurations – C5 Classic, CX Military and G5 Deluxe. They also meet LAMS laws.
