Royal Enfield has posted its best-ever quarterly result, selling a total of 269,039 motorcycles globally between October 1 and December 31 in 2024.
This total represents a 17 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023, which is the third quarter of India’s financial year.
With one quarter remaining in FY25, Royal Enfield appears on track to beat its yearly record total of 835,000 motorcycle units from FY24 (April 1, 2023-March 31, 2024).
It is unclear how many motorcycles Royal Enfield sells in Australia, as its local distributor, Urban Moto Imports, is not a member of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industry (FCAI), but the brand’s presence is growing Down Under thanks to the success of models like the Himalayan 450 adventure tourer.
The addition of a new CKD plant in Thailand, with an annual capacity of 30,000 units, should benefit the brand in Australia too, alongside the wider Asia-Pacific market.
Royal Enfield has been very active over the past 12 months, releasing a host of models including the Shotgun 650, Himalayan 450, Guerilla 450, and the Bear 650. It also relaunched the Bullet 350, while a Classic 650 is expected to land soon.
The Chennai-based brand also debuted its Flying Flea electric sub-brand at the end of 2024, with the first model expected to arrive in 2026. Royal Enfield also has a partnership with electric motocross brand Stark Future. Other initiatives by Royal Enfield include the REOWN pre-owned bike platform and loyalty program (currently India only), the ever-growing Motoverse festival in Goa, and the 10-day Journeying Across the Himalayas cultural festival in Delhi.
