Royal Enfield has teamed up with Sydney’s Purpose Built Moto for an eye-catching custom build based on the Super Meteor 650.
The one-off build, called Project Delta, draws inspiration from the 1940s and 1950s, with a particular focus on the Super Meteor 700 and the Flying Flea model that was used in World War II.
Purpose Built Moto reworked the frame, with the oil cooler housed in-frame. A monoshock conversion and a girder fork are supplemented by 23- and 19-inch custom spoked wheels, giving the bike a vintage look and feel.
There is also a hand-shifted gear lever, a handcrafted peanut fuel tank, solid-mounted handlebars, and beautiful black, gold and cherry red paint accents.
“Classic motorcycles always made the engine the star, and that’s why I love Royal Enfield 650 Twin engines,” said Purpose Built Moto founder, Tom Gilroy. “We’ve delivered a no-compromise vision that blends the modern power plant of the Royal Enfield 650 Twin with inspiration drawn from the original Super Meteor 700, and antique models like the Flying Flea of the 1940s.”
