Rossi wins Monza Rally Show

The flamboyant Italian's third win in the historic car rally, as he saw off fellow bike riders like Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo and Loris Capirossi
The 30,000 fans who piled into Monza on November 25 to watch the 90th edition of the Monza Rally Show saw Valentino Rossi score a double: he walked away with not only the Stage Rally win but took the top step of the Master Show as well.
Rossi previously won the rally in 2006 and 2007, and was second last year behind world rally legend Sebastien Loeb in 2011.  Loeb sat out this year’s event.
With multiple Le Mans winner Dindo Capello breathing down his neck, Rossi, in a Ford Fiesta WRC, eventually won the Stage Rally by a tight 2.8 seconds after nine outings around Monza.
In the Master Show, Rossi came up against fellow MotoGP star Andrea Dovizioso, who couldn’t find quite enough to stay with his countryman. The final run saw Rossi square up against Capello one more time but over the three-lap run he blazed to the win by over 8.5 seconds. Dovizioso claimed the final spot on the box.
Reigning MotoGP Jorge Lorenzo also competed in a Citroen DS3 but lingered around the top 10, but he’ll be back for more four-wheeled action when he competes at the Race of Champions in Bangkok from December 14-16.
