There's a limited-edition coffee table book celebrating the spectacularly successful partnership, but it's only available to YZF-R1SP customers“It’s been a great race,” says the great man. It certainly has. Rossi’s first outing on the YZR-M1 at the South African Grand Prix in Welkom in 2004 started a six-year love affair with Yamaha that is celebrated in a limited-edition tome.
They say a picture tells a thousand words, and the image of Rossi kissing his Yamaha after defying the critics by winning that first race is an image that burns in the memory.
Pictures like these along with many others that make this book a must have item for Rossi fans – or anyone who appreciates the drama of sport at the highest level of competition. However, the book is not for sale to the public.
But it has been sent direct to all YZF-R1SP customers. And it will be sent to all future YZF-R1SP customers. However, there are strictly limited stocks of these Rossi Special R1s, which retails for $21, 299, $1300 more than the standard YZF-R1.
Note that participating dealers are also offering this model with $1000 Yamadollars and a free set of GYTR carbon mufflers for a limited time only.
