Rossi declared fit for Aragon action

The Italian has been given the green light to compete – although the hard part is still to come

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi has been declared fit to ride in this weekend's MotoGP round at Aragon in Spain, which means that Dutchman Michael van der Mark won't get to make his MotoGP debut as the Italian great's designated replacement.

Rossi successfully completed a mandatory medical examination at Aragon on September 21, with the chief medical officer, Clemente Millan, declaring the nine-time World Champion fit to ride, 21 days after breaking the tibula and fibula in his right leg.

Next up will be the real business of riding the Yamaha in anger, starting with FP1 today. Click here to keep a track of all the results.
