Australian motorcycling stalwart Bert Flood has passed away after a long illness.
Flood was synomomous with local motorcycle racing in the 1960s, and won two Australian TTs in the 125cc class at Mallala (SA) in 1964 and Longford (Tas) two years later on Bultacos.
The family name was then continued with his two sons, Trevor and Gary, who won the first two Mr Motocross titles in 1974 and 1975 respectively.
Bert was motorcyling devotee until the end, spectating at last weekend's Island Classic historic meeting at Phillip Island. He passed away this morning in a Melbourne hospital.
RIP Bert.
