All too often motorcycle films fix their gaze on British or American legends, so it's refreshing to see a local film maker turning their talent to a home-grown hero. To that end, A Portrait of a Motorcycle Legend – the story of Rex Wolfenden, focuses on one of the greats of the Australian motorcycle racing scene.
Based in Melbourne, Rex Wolfenden tackled many races as an A-grade road racer before a major accident prompted him to specialise in engine building, tuning and race preparation for others.
For many years he's worked at T-Rex Racing, building and maintaining historic race bikes for his clientele.
Now Rex's story has been immortalised in a new short film, which shines a light on his career and the man behind it.
Directed by Josie Baynes and produced by 50 Kaliber, the film runs over six minutes – check it out below…
