Revamped XT250 launched

Old faithful gets a make over

Yamaha's long-time entry-level bike for trail riders, the XT250, has come in for a major revamp which should please fans of the model.

Like its predecessors, its specs are fairly modest but in this case suggest the bike will both be light and more maneuverable than the previous version.

Many will welcome the slight lift in capacity, to return the model to being a true 250.

Pricing is $6500 plus ORC.

Here is the corporate brag sheet for the machine:

  • Engine capacity is increased from 223cc to 250cc and the new engine is mounted in a new-design frame that features less unsprung weight thanks to lighter wheel assemblies to achieve a big boost in riding enjoyment, running speeds and stronger off road performance.
