Future MotoGP star Remy Gardner has backed the Ride Your Motorcycle Week initiative, encouraging Australian motorcyclists to get back on their bikes as summer approaches.
The annual event, which runs from November 29 to December 5, encourages motorcyclists to dust of their bikes and have fun. Originally known as ‘Ride Your Motorcycle to Work Week’, organisers have changed the name to appeal to a wider audience.
According to Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries executive Tony Weber, the aim of Ride Your Motorcycle Week is to remind riders of the efficiency and ease riding a bike offered, as well as promoting ridings positive impact on mental health.
“When you’re on the bike, there is nothing else like it,” said Weber. “But life gets in the way, and this event is just a little extra push to get your bike serviced ahead of riding season, take the bike to work, take the long way home, take the day off and just go on an adventure. This is the week to do it.”

Gardner, who is the son of former MotoGP world champion, Wayne Gardner, is encouraging riders from his home country to get their bikes out of the shed.
“From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely wish that you have a great time coming out of lockdown and get out on your bikes,” said Gardner. “Hope you can all get back to normal life and have a good time out on your bikes.”
Gardner is just one win away from claiming the Moto2 World Championship, and will make the leap to the MotoGP class in 2022 with Tech3 KTM.
