Remy Gardner signs helmet deal with OGK Kabuto for 2022

The Moto2 World Champion will join the premier MotoGP category in 2022

Australian MotoGP star Remy Gardner has signed a sponsorship agreement with Japanese helmet brand OGK Kabuto for the 2022 season.

Gardner, who last year won the Moto2 World Championship, will join the MotoGP ranks in 2022 with Tech3 KTM Factory Racing. He follows in the footsteps of his father, Wayne Gardner, who won the 1987 500cc World Championship.

The Aussie young gun made his Moto3 debut in 2014 at the age of 16 before moving up to the Moto2 class in 2016. In 2021, he notched up five wins and 12 podiums, ultimately taking the title.

His partnership with Kabuto will see him wearing the company’s racing flagship F-17 helmet throughout the 2022 MotoGP season.

Based in Osaka, Japan, Kabuto is prominent both in motorcycling and cycling, and is known for a number of key innovations in safety helmet technology.

The 2022 MotoGP season kicks off in Qatar on March 6.
