Remy Gardner signs for Tech3 in Moto2

Will be full-time in the 2017 championship alongside Xavi Vierge

Australian Remy Gardner has signed with the Tech3 Racing Team to compete in the 2017 Moto2 world title.

The announcement was made during last weekend's British GP at Silverstone, where Gardner finished 20th on the Tasca Racing Scuderia Moto2 machine, 31 seconds behind race winner Tom Luthi.

"I am really excited to announce that I have signed with Hervé (Poncheral) and the Tech3 Racing Team for 2017," said Gardner. "The Mistral 610 Moto2 bike is different compared to what most other guys are riding but everyone is looking for that extra edge now.

"When I watch the bike out on the track, I can see that it has very good potential so I’m delighted to have signed and I can’t wait for next season and to start the progress of developing the project further. From an outsider's perspective, it looks like the team is very structured and in all honesty, I couldn’t be any happier about joining Tech3.”

It will be Gardner's first full season in the intermediate class. Gardner's teammate will be Spanish rider Xavi Vierge, who was 13th at Silverstone.
