Australia's Remy Gardner will compete in the 2016 Spanish CEV Mott2 title on am ex-Tom Luthi Kalex machine under the 'Team Experience' moniker.
Depending on results, Remy may also participate as a wildcard in selected Moto2 world championship events during the season.
“After the last few weeks I really didn’t expect to land something so good, especially with the new season only a few weeks away," said Remy. "I think in some ways it’s a blessing in disguise and there is nothing wrong with taking a sideways step to go two steps forward which is what I think can happen in this scenario.
"I am really happy, Race Experience has a lot to offer and I can’t wait to start testing.”
Gardner is no stranger to the Spanish CEV series, having raced in the Moto3 class in 2014 before he graduated to the Moto3 world title last year on a Mahindra – scoring his best result at Phillip Island in 10th position. Remy was to have competed in the Moto2 world title in 2016, but the deal eventually fell through.
Testing with his new team will begin in March. The first round, of eight, will be held at Valencia on April 17, and the series will also visit Le Mans, Aragon, Catalunya, Albacete, Portimao and Jerez.
Remy's teammate will be announced shortly.
